Standard Sizing

Athletic fence screens are manufactured to match your fence dimensions exactly. Common configurations:

4 ft fence height – Commonly used for Little League outfields and tennis courts, typically covering 100 to 300 linear feet.
6 ft fence height – Ideal for high school outfields and practice facilities, usually spanning 200 to 400 linear feet.
8 ft fence height – Standard for college/NCAA outfields and stadium perimeters, covering 300 to 500 linear feet.
10 ft+ fence height – Used for backstops, batting cages, and specialty barriers, with custom lengths depending on the facility.

Installation

DuraMesh fence screens install directly to chain-link fencing using the included brass grommets, spaced every 12 inches along all edges.

Secure each grommet to the fence with zip ties, bungee cords, or hog rings (hog rings recommended for permanent installations).

Two people can install a standard 50-foot panel in approximately 30 minutes.

In athletic applications, the terms are interchangeable. A fence screen (also called a windscreen or wind screen) is a printed or solid-color mesh panel that attaches to chain-link fencing. It provides wind reduction, visual privacy, and branding surface. DuraMesh athletic fence screens combine all three functions - wind management, privacy, and full-color custom printing, in a single product.

How long do athletic fence screens last outdoors?

DuraMesh athletic fence screens are rated for 12 to 24 months of continuous outdoor exposure. The vinyl-coated polyester mesh resists UV degradation, and printing uses UV-protected inks that maintain color vibrancy throughout the rated lifespan. Screens in sheltered locations or seasonal-use facilities often last beyond the rated period. DuraMesh includes a 5-year warranty against manufacturer defects.

What wind blockage percentage should I choose for athletic fields?

DuraMesh provides 65% wind blockage (35% airflow). This is the most popular rating for athletic fence screens because it reduces wind speed enough to improve playing conditions while still allowing airflow that prevents the screen from acting as a sail on the fence.
